The trek begins . . .

With two days in Vegas, Jim made up for lost time. He ate and drank his way through the city. . . eating at one of Vegas' best restaurants and enjoying a great bottle of wine. Jim found no shortage of places to shop as he found where the big winners spend big dollars! The time there was undoubtedly too short but they seemed to make the best of what time they had. While in Vegas, Jim had the opportunity to call home numerous times and speak to his family and friends, knowing that time was winding down to make those contacts.

It was only two days later that Jim's platoon was called up for departure. Jim has left the safety and comfort of the United States and is making his way for Iraq. Little information is provided regarding where he will be but we will post his mailing information once received. I recognize the courage it takes for his family as they grapple with the knowledge of their son being in harms way. I pray for Jim's safety and a calm heart - hope you will too.

We will continue to provide updates as they come. Please be patient, as information will come slowly and some of it is sensitive Military information that the family is not allowed to share.

Many thanks to all the friends and family . . .

Cynthia

Hey guys!

Was able to get some info from Jim. As of 3/9/05 he was at Al Asad Airbase in Iraq and that afternoon would be leaving for his assigned base of operations. He is still with his original unit of guys.
